The BFAP FinSim Farm-level Model is a total budgeting model capable of simulating a (representative) farm comprising various enterprises, e.g. grain, oilseeds, wine, fruits and livestock. Apart from the enterprise specifics, the model captures business specifics, such as the asset structure and financing method(s). The output of the farm-level model is presented through various performance indicators, such as farm gross margins, net farm income (NFI), return to family living (as a cash flow measure), the cumulative net cash balance (CNCB), the net worth, and the debt to asset ratio.
Some key outputs of the FinSim model and how it is used in conjunction with the other key components of the Farming Systems Analysis in BFAP can be found at Farming Systems Analysis.
